Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats? Its structure is similar to MS Office 2007 documents and Open Document Format. It is a ZIP Deflate archive with XML data and some JPG, and/or PNG pictures inside. Otherwise, if I try to compress .3MF it bearly makes it smaller unless I recompress .3MF to the Store setting then it makes it a lot smaller.
Wish they all would move to 7zip ZSTD in the first place so that the optimized file size with FileOptimizer would be 50% of the ZIP Deflate version. And there would be no extra compression needed :)
I noticed that the option to add the optimize archive function to the context menu is missing on Windows 10.
Opening each archive with the interface in order to click it becomes tedious with many files.
Same for others functions like Remove Archive Encryption
PAOP V3 Wish List
-
Although a version 3 of PAOP is possibly not even on the design board I would love to read users idea’s and wish’s for this great addition to Pro & Toolbox.
My wish list so far!
1. email Options to be available In PA Configuration not just through Outlook.
2. More Compression Methods available via Drop Down
3. Ability where by you can Create a Default Compression Name on email and not just “attachment” or 1st File Name.
4. Cancel Function when Compress Box Apears, currently it still sends the email and attachments uncompresed if user hits the Exit Sign.
5.POAP Settings to be importable & Exportable via main application’s configuiration settings.
6. Full 64Bit Support
8. Global Compression on attachements… ie currently if you have multiple files and one exceeds those stated in the configuration ie 3megs. it only compresses that one file… It would be great to have a tick box thus to compile all files into one archive! so the user on receipt can open one archive containing all files.
9. Patchbeam includes’s POAP Plugin for format updates.

One other wish list option (assuming I haven’t missed this and it is already there).
It appears the option rename the extension has to be chosen for all attachments – or for none.
I would like to be able to choose it case by case – so if I know someone has a compression program, I can just zipx it, while if I am unsure, I can send a self-extracting file.

That could fall nicely under Adaptive Type Options, something I have asked for in the past. But you have raised a very valid point so thank you.
