Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats? Its structure is similar to MS Office 2007 documents and Open Document Format. It is a ZIP Deflate archive with XML data and some JPG, and/or PNG pictures inside. Otherwise, if I try to compress .3MF it bearly makes it smaller unless I recompress .3MF to the Store setting then it makes it a lot smaller.
Wish they all would move to 7zip ZSTD in the first place so that the optimized file size with FileOptimizer would be 50% of the ZIP Deflate version. And there would be no extra compression needed :)
I noticed that the option to add the optimize archive function to the context menu is missing on Windows 10.
Opening each archive with the interface in order to click it becomes tedious with many files.
Same for others functions like Remove Archive Encryption

Hello,
i’d like to see some Feature the other Archivers have in PA because i need them and use them always. If PA had them i could deinstall WinRAR and the Others.
- digitally signed archives (Like WinRAR or Squeez)
- true multi-volume archives (Don’t know if PA already has them - 7-Zip does not)
- Internal and external data recovery records (like SQX)
- true UAC awareness - Squeez and SpeedCommander (and the SFXes) is the only Archiver Application i know witch can Extract into UAC Protected DIRs (well PA on my Systems does not)
Perhaps you could contact Speedproject - for developing SQX further. Because it already has those features and more (just no multicore-Support) because R. Nausedat the main developer of SQX died in 2004 and S. Ritter is more capable of developing the File-Manager of Speedproject “SpeedCommander”

Can you give more details about “true multi-volume” please?
How is this different from “split archives”?

True Multi Volume Archives are truly Split while Compression. And each Part gets it’s own Archiver Header + Recovery Records or the Digital Siganture Data.
(Like WinRAR does the Multivolume - Splitting Or Squeez Spilts its Archives). Wenn WinRAR starts archiving it will Compress the Files until the Archiv is just a few KB Smaller than the Split Archive Size. - Then WinRAR adds the Header and the other File-Info - Closes the File and Starts the next File.7-Zip Compresses the Complete Files into One Big Archive and then Splits it into the Required Size. (Simply a Split + Join) - to decompress the Archive 7-Zip must first Join them to the one Big Archive (even if just Temp.) WinRAR Starts Without joining the Files So if you Activate the “Keep Broken Files” Option you could decompress an Incomplete WinRAR Multivolume Archive. so not all files would be lost. With 7-Zip the Archive would become unusable - Just a waste of Space.

7zip does indeed have muti support.
what i would like is to have 7zip as a separate plugin so i would update to the latest beta build of 7zip instaed of having to wait till powerarchiver approves it.

Yes i know. But from what i know it’s not True Multivolume Support. 7-Zip Creates the Archive and then Splits it into the Reqired Parts. - As far as i know from my Last Tests with 7-Zip. The Archive becomes Unusable if one of the Parts is Corrupted.
Tested it again with 7-Zip 9.20:
Created an Archiv Split into 1MB Parts. Then Corrupted 1 Part (made a Backup before) and Tried to extract the Archive - didn’t work. – Restored the Part and Joined them Manualy an tested the Archive all OK. (Manually Join 7z Parts: "cmd: copy /B “Part1” + “Part2” + … + “Part N” "Archive.7z)Tested it with WinRAR: Corrupted one Part (made a Backup before) - Extracted it with “Keep Broken File” and it extracts allright - with some of the Files Missing. - But not everything is LOST. - Or if you have Recovery Info in the Archive you could try to Repair the Corrupted Bits (or Part)

That would be a nice feature to have too.

so what other features would you find cool in imaginary new format? Not excessive, just things you actually need.

what i think this guy wants is a way that if part of any multi archive is corupt you can still recover the files. what he wants is a winrar recovery feature.
which can be implemented into pa
