Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats? Its structure is similar to MS Office 2007 documents and Open Document Format. It is a ZIP Deflate archive with XML data and some JPG, and/or PNG pictures inside. Otherwise, if I try to compress .3MF it bearly makes it smaller unless I recompress .3MF to the Store setting then it makes it a lot smaller.
Wish they all would move to 7zip ZSTD in the first place so that the optimized file size with FileOptimizer would be 50% of the ZIP Deflate version. And there would be no extra compression needed :)
I noticed that the option to add the optimize archive function to the context menu is missing on Windows 10.
Opening each archive with the interface in order to click it becomes tedious with many files.
Same for others functions like Remove Archive Encryption
Add file dialog: Customize Places Bar & More

Running on Vista and I add files to a new archive, the places bar only displays: Desktop, Documents, Computer and Network Locations.
(1) Is it possible to edit/change those places? I would like to add “Recent Places” as seen in Vista’s open/save dialogs.
I would also like to change a couple other places. Also I can I add more places to the existing list? Or is it limited to 4 places?
(2) The documents icon looks like its from Win7 while the other icons look like Vista icons? Can the Vista icons be changed to match the W7 documents icon? For the sake of continuity.

Marc I’m running Windows 7 and those icons look correct to me…I don’t think they all changed in the transition from Vista to W7.
I would also like to change a couple other places. Also I can I add more places to the existing list? Or is it limited to 4 places?
I think 5 is the most you can have if it’s based the same as an OS…I know I generally change mine using Tuneup Utilities 2009…not so sure it will change them in PA though.
links below maybe useful…

Maybe they are the same icons as W7, but the documents icon looks like it came from another set. But if thats whats seen in 7 then it is what it is.
Recent Places though seems like a logical and usefull addition to me.
Thanks for the reply and info :)

Actually TuneUp wont change the places bar for PA as its specific to the application. Every other program on my system displays the following (see attached)

I guessed PA might over-rule whatever was set in a third party application…it’s now down to the PA team to modify it I guess if they so desire…but I must admit I too would like the option to add to them or at least change them.
just want to confirm also Marc that the ‘documents’ icon is indeed a Windows 7 icon as are the others…
they don’t look quite as good but it’s probably because they have been ‘down-sized’ slightly to accommodate them in the box. -
Changing them is more important me. That would be a nice addition/change in a future release.

they are all win7 icons there… Add window is completly custom…

I dont have an option to customize the dialog. Could you provide the procedure for doing so? TIA
