Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats? Its structure is similar to MS Office 2007 documents and Open Document Format. It is a ZIP Deflate archive with XML data and some JPG, and/or PNG pictures inside. Otherwise, if I try to compress .3MF it bearly makes it smaller unless I recompress .3MF to the Store setting then it makes it a lot smaller.
Wish they all would move to 7zip ZSTD in the first place so that the optimized file size with FileOptimizer would be 50% of the ZIP Deflate version. And there would be no extra compression needed :)
I noticed that the option to add the optimize archive function to the context menu is missing on Windows 10.
Opening each archive with the interface in order to click it becomes tedious with many files.
Same for others functions like Remove Archive Encryption
2009 Beta1: Go Button Image

This is not a complaint. But I was looking at the go button image and it dosent fit well with the other PA buttons and images.
I would like to propose changing it for continuity. Some people might think its trival or not important. But UI means alot to me.
Here are a few images I came up with for your consideration. Maybe some other PA users can post some images?
-
Not sure which “skin/mode” this refers to?
E.g. A green icon doesn’t fit using modern blue. Also, the circle clashes with the “go back / go next” icons.
-
it is an Vista button that signifies go to folder, we try to keep them same as in Windows so they look good :)
-
In Vista I’ve never seen a folder that looks like that. It was only a suggestion. I dont suppose there is a way to hide it?

then it is Win7 :-).
You wanted it, its there… there you go :-)

I know I requested it, and thanks. But I think it was better as a text button. The current image dosent have the PA look and feel. The image looks like an oddball in contrast to the other icons.
It reminds me when people skin applications and mix XP, Vista and KDE icons :D
Sorry. Im just a stickler when it comes to UI continuity.
-
why not just a png with lowered opacity in the centre so the background of each skin can be seen through it and the word ‘GO’ on it?…or has that already been tried?
-
When you say skins… You mean the downloaded skins and not the Office style UI?
Sounds like an interesting idea in any case.
The more I look at the current button image the more Im thinking I would prefer the original ‘Go’ text, but in a bold font.
-
I reckon it would work on ALL skins Marc…
I wouldn’t forsee any problems in the latest crop of current skins.I’m sure you and your graphical skills can whip one up…:)
-
there would be no going to text…. you guys need to learn consequences of your wishes.
:-))))))))))
-
I can accept that there may be consequences. Its hard to think of everything. Im half serious when I ask this but… Did you have any consequences in mind? lol
Just give me a hint. Would it be for not, if I were to create more images?
I dont mean this post to be negative. Its hard to put things in thier proper context ;) :D
