Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats? Its structure is similar to MS Office 2007 documents and Open Document Format. It is a ZIP Deflate archive with XML data and some JPG, and/or PNG pictures inside. Otherwise, if I try to compress .3MF it bearly makes it smaller unless I recompress .3MF to the Store setting then it makes it a lot smaller.
Wish they all would move to 7zip ZSTD in the first place so that the optimized file size with FileOptimizer would be 50% of the ZIP Deflate version. And there would be no extra compression needed :)
I noticed that the option to add the optimize archive function to the context menu is missing on Windows 10.
Opening each archive with the interface in order to click it becomes tedious with many files.
Same for others functions like Remove Archive Encryption
7Zip AES encryption?
-
I wanted to confirm that when using 7zip the default encryption method was AES256. I don’t think that it is mentioned anywhere.

PowerArchiver doesn’t support encryption for 7-zip compression. However, once the archive is created, you can then apply PowerArchiver’s own encryption (PAE) to it. If this is done via explorer shell, the default type of encryption (e.g. 256 AES) can then be chosen within PowerArchiver options.

So when you set a password for a 7zip file (which you can) what encryption is it using?

Oops - sorry, my mistake :(
From HELP FILE
[…7-Zip…] is also an modern format, that supports UNICODE filenames (so international users will not have any issues with special characters), maximum file sizes up to 16000000000 GB, and strong encryption (AES 256 bit).

Hi,
only avail. encryption in 7zip is 256bit AES. Thats why it is not specifically mentioned (since you can not chose).
thanks,

Thanks spwolf thats what i needed to hear. I would advertise that on your front page as i believe it is a very important compatibility feature.
