Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats? Its structure is similar to MS Office 2007 documents and Open Document Format. It is a ZIP Deflate archive with XML data and some JPG, and/or PNG pictures inside. Otherwise, if I try to compress .3MF it bearly makes it smaller unless I recompress .3MF to the Store setting then it makes it a lot smaller.
Wish they all would move to 7zip ZSTD in the first place so that the optimized file size with FileOptimizer would be 50% of the ZIP Deflate version. And there would be no extra compression needed :)
I noticed that the option to add the optimize archive function to the context menu is missing on Windows 10.
Opening each archive with the interface in order to click it becomes tedious with many files.
Same for others functions like Remove Archive Encryption
Can't drag and drop folders plz help

One feature that PA really lacks is the ability to drag and drop folders out of an archive. I really hope this feature is added soon.
Also, when dragging folders into an archive, it would be nice if there was an extra option to ‘keep folder name’, currently the options are to add all files in the folder to the root of the archive, or to add that entire path.
so right now if you drag and drop from the desktop to the archive your option to keep folder paths make it include:
documents and settings\my name\desktop\folder name
where as i’d like it be able to just get the folder name in there.

As to path suggestion, you can already do that by using “Normal path” option in Config> Misc.

I thought this looked familiar :p

Maybe - wait for 9.1 http://www.powerarchiver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96b) So maybe seperate issue when using classic view
Dragging Folder into existing archive does NOT store Folder name. The setting of “Normal path” option in Config> Misc. has no effect. With Flag SET:
Create new Zip Archive - Add Folder - Relative Path - Works - Path is stored.
Now switch to Windows Explorer (leaving PA with the Archive open).
Drag another folder from Windows Explorer onto PA Archive Window.
Do not select Full Path (we only want the dragged Folder)!
New files are stored with NO path. With Flag NOT SET:
Create new Zip Archive - Add Folder - Relative Path - Files are stored with NO path - As expected.
Now switch to Windows Explorer (leaving PA with the Archive open).
Drag another folder from Windows Explorer onto PA Archive Window.
Do not select Full Path (we only want the dragged Folder)!
New files are again stored with NO path. -
Not working!!!

Correct.
But as I said - a workaround is activate “Normal path” option in Config> Misc. Then open your archive in PA and use the ADD function (Add Folder / Relative paths) instead of Drag & Drop. -
GRANTED in 9.10.
thank you,

Hello
I’m testing version 9.11.01.
Drag a folder from Windows Explorer onto a open PA Archive Window doesn’t store the relative path - independent whether the “Normal path” option in Config> Misc is activated or not.
Adding with the Add-Command does work.

Possible reason I’ve noticed - the flag “Use normal relative path” does not stay checked.
Start PA
check the flag in “Configuration / Miscellaneous / Use normal relative path”
close config window (using OK)
{doesn’t matter if you now create an archive or not}
re-open the Config window again and the flag is NOT checked. So PA always saves with this option disabled?

I believe “normal” path option was not enabled for D&D into archive, hence it does not work.
We will check it out.
thanks,
