Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats?
    A

Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats? Its structure is similar to MS Office 2007 documents and Open Document Format. It is a ZIP Deflate archive with XML data and some JPG, and/or PNG pictures inside. Otherwise, if I try to compress .3MF it bearly makes it smaller unless I recompress .3MF to the Store setting then it makes it a lot smaller.
Wish they all would move to 7zip ZSTD in the first place so that the optimized file size with FileOptimizer would be 50% of the ZIP Deflate version. And there would be no extra compression needed :)

    Optimize archive on Context Menu
    W

I noticed that the option to add the optimize archive function to the context menu is missing on Windows 10.
Opening each archive with the interface in order to click it becomes tedious with many files.

Same for others functions like Remove Archive Encryption

      Hello,

if you want you can add this new dll from new version of 7-Zip 4.44 to your PA2007 beta version to have better compression speed and eliminate some minor bugs

I test it and didnt see any bugs. All things work great like before.

      What’s new:

      • Speed optimizations for LZMA, Deflate, BZip2 and unRAR.
      • Some changes in error messages.
      • Some bugs were fixed.
      • New localizations: Bangla, Bashkir, Nepali.

      Details about speed optimizations:

      • LZMA in multithreading mode for dual-core CPUs
      • BZip2 compressing and decompressing
      • Deflate in Max and Ultra modes
      • UnRAR code was rewritten. And it must work faster now.

      Download: 7-Zip 4.44 Alpha 1 32-bit (826 KB)
      Download: 7-Zip 4.44 Alpha 1 64-bit (1.23 MB)

I use PA 2007 Beta 4 and extracted the dll and overwrote the PA 7zip dll which caused conflict problems.

PA, is this something you will amend eg? have the latest Alpha version in beta 5 or will you wait till its past testing?

Also am I correct in assuming that the Plug-in feature would allow users to add there own new DLL Versions of compression software? This would mean that users can self update to the latest compression methods without waiting on the next PA Release.

have you seen total commander. well pa uses a similar system for plugins. At the moment plugins for total commander do not work with pa but hopely this will be fixed shortly.

basically you will have to write a plugin that essemnntually uses the dll of that program in order to use that compression. As this is still a new feature it will be refined over time and in no doubt the best feature about. No other archiver of any iuse uses this feature yet.

          Well done pa keep inovating.

you wont able to change any of engines in PA currently, via plugins.

We will check new 7zip, as we usually always do, if we dont find any issues, we will include it in future releases…

            thanks for the info…

Its ok, but even though its in Alpha level it has yet improved on their compresion method!

As you can see below, I compressed a Registry Backup of 31.3 Megs. In PA show below it compressed it on ultra to 1.98mb! FANTASTIC.
On 7-Zips new 4.44 Aplha it did the same.
So where is the so called improvment to compression?

Although I must admit a file from 31.3mb to 1.98 is bloody good!

Normal File 31.3 MB (32,892,524 bytes)
                PA 7zip Ultra 1.98 MB (2,085,895 bytes)
                PA 7zip Maximum 1.99 MB (2,087,216 bytes)
                7-Zip 4.44 Alpha (ULTRA) 1.98 MB (2,085,895 bytes)

                  hmm, Its not true
I download EVEREST Ultimate Edition 2006 3.50.865 Beta and decompres zip file and make some test with this unzipped folder

                  12 137 284b - NORMAL
                  23s - 7.505.832b - PowerArchiver 2007 10.00.22 Beta 6 (Ultra & Solid & LZMA)
                  27s - 7.502.041b - 7-Zip 4.44 Beta (Ultra & Soild & Word size 273 & Dictionary size 64MB)

I make this test on PIII 900MHz, 768MB ram.
Yep, I know this comp is very ols :p

                  **But , nvm.
I like better PA, because is much faster.
5s difference for 12MB file is very big difference for me
