Can you include .3MF to the list of re-compressible formats? Its structure is similar to MS Office 2007 documents and Open Document Format. It is a ZIP Deflate archive with XML data and some JPG, and/or PNG pictures inside. Otherwise, if I try to compress .3MF it bearly makes it smaller unless I recompress .3MF to the Store setting then it makes it a lot smaller.
Wish they all would move to 7zip ZSTD in the first place so that the optimized file size with FileOptimizer would be 50% of the ZIP Deflate version. And there would be no extra compression needed :)
I noticed that the option to add the optimize archive function to the context menu is missing on Windows 10.
Opening each archive with the interface in order to click it becomes tedious with many files.
Same for others functions like Remove Archive Encryption
Caching Passwords

I do not want to use Password Manager because I do not want my passwords saved persistently.
However, when dealing with password protected Zips, PA should cache the password while the Zip file is open. I understand that each file inside the Zip can have a different password, but 99.9% of the time they have the same password.
Other programs I have used ask for the password on the first access of a protected file, then will cache that password and try to use it for subsequent protected files - only prompting again only if the cached password does not work.
The cached password should be discarded when PA exits or the Zip file is closed (unless Password Manager is configured).
On a related note, I have a nitpick for when specifying the password when creating protected files: most programs have 2 edit boxes for the password (to verify correct typing) on the same dialog box - you enter the password then TAB then reenter the password in the second box. Then you press the enter key (or click OK). PA requires pressing enter between the passwords.
Not a really big deal, but it would be nice for PA to follow this nearly universal, common pattern, as it’s wired into my password entry keyboarding habit.

Bump for PA 2007 wishlist, even though no one else seemed interested :-( .

this would make it easier for people/ spware to steal passwords don’t you think

I don’t see how this would make passwords any easier to steal. If you’re looking at it from the standpoint of spyware or someone monitoring the passwords you type in, it might make it less easy to steal since you will have to type the password in fewer times. However, to be clear, I don’t see this as a feature to improve security - it’s something to make dealing with password protected .zip files more convenient.
The password never gets stored anywhere except in memory - PA should remove it when the archive is closed.
You can think of this as a ‘single-session’ password word manager.

Wow - things sure have been quiet here the past few days…
Since nothing else seems to be going on, I’ll take the opportunity to bring up an old request of mine for reconsideration:
