Whats New
New mp3 codec implemented in experimental codecs, new ppmd_sh2 codec, updated codec engine with bug fixes, less memory usage. Fully usable compression profiles with advanced options, updated add and extract windows. Shell compress/extract now instantly start actions compared to previous 2s-5s delay. Many more fixes and changes.

BTW, download link names refer to 77, even if download point to 83.

Avira antivirus is throwing up a false positive with this build.
According to Avira it contains TR/Crypt.XPACK.Gen3.
I’ve reported it as a fp, . Hopefully they will fix it.

What file specifically? we might need to report it ourselves for faster handling.

i have personally reported it 10x to them in past 30 days, it should have been fixed. According to VirusTotal it is not reported anymore, i am sure you are using latest definitions? thanks.

I don’t like the .83 version at all. It’s always locking up saying not responding. Makes the whole PC slow and a bit unreliable.

when does it happen? Let us know more… first report so far. What has changed is add and extract windows, not much else inside PA (other than codecs).

we also re-uploaded the setup with version of the exe that has been whitelisted properly… thanks!

@spwolf I reinstalled over the top. Possibly it’s better now but checking for updates is often very slow and shows “Not responding”. Maybe it’s just your update server that’s slow.

it is small text file on our CDN, so likely a problem between CDN servers and your ISP. I had a vision of PA crashing and freezing :).

If it keeps happening, we can send tracert logs to the CDN, maybe they can re-route it.
