<![CDATA[.zipx vs .zip 1and1 host cannot unzip .zipx]]>how can i zip files with .zip extension, my webhost 1and1 .com cannot unzip this file extension in webspace explorer.

This has always the fastest way for me to get a site up and running.

I have/had no problem now or in the past zipping these files untill I noticed it saves with .zipx extension instead of .zip

If I try to upload all these in FTP PA will hang. so I really just need to zip, upload, extract

I made a profile so I can use it both ways.
by default is set to .zip.

1. Open PowerArchiver
2. ‘Options’
3. ‘Configuration’
4. ‘Compression Profiles’ , select the Default for Zip.

Within that change the ‘method’ from ‘Optimized’ to ‘Deflate’ and press ‘Ok’
